Charles Roy HESTER, 76, retired farmer of New Market died 4:55 p.m. Saturday Jan 5, 1963 after an illness of 9 months. Son of John H and Ida Jane Kennedy Harris was born in Montgomery Co March 1, 1886. Wed to Nora Edith Peffley at Raccoon July 21, 1908. Mr. Hester was a member of New Market Methodist Church; served on its board of trustees and Sunday School Supt. For number of years. Surviving besides the wife are 3 daughters; Mrs. William Gilliland and Mrs. Stanley Trimble and Mrs. Evarts Keys; 5 grandchildren and 5 greats; 3 sisters; Mrs. Homer Miles; Mrs. Ellis Friend; Mrs. Raymond Riddle; two brothers, Lawrence and Clarence and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Hester in death were 3 sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Noble-Reeves Funeral Home, Rev. Fred Dean officiating and interment in Masonic Cemetery at Crawfordsville. = typed by kbz
